Dust Storm 1965
The artist is Earle Backen, this print is an intaglio, the technique used was etching and aquatint, it is printed in color the size of the plate is 44.7h x 30.4w cm the sheet is 63.3h x 48.1w cm. there are only 110 copies of this print, 10 of which the artist had made for his own use as the 100 were used in a commission.
Even though this picture is of a dust storm, when i look at it I see different things, I see a dog, a cloud, a moon, and a figure that could resemble the sun. For these reasons I like this picture because I can see different things within it from the shapes and colors used..However there are definite shapes and lines used in this piece.
